Health Professions Appeal and Review Board

Through reviews and hearings, the Health Profession Appeal and Review Board monitors the activities of the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario, the College of Chiropodists of Ontario, the College of Chiropractors of Ontario, the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario, the College of Dental Technologists of Ontario, the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, the College of Denturists of Ontario, the College of Dietitians of Ontario, the Transitional Council of the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario, the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario, the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, the College of Midwives of Ontario, the College of Nurses of Ontario, the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario, the College of Opticians of Ontario, the College of Optometrists of Ontario, the Ontario College of Pharmacists, the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario, the College of Psychologists of Ontario, the College of Respiratory Therapists in Ontario, the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario, and the Transitional Council of the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners, and Acupuncturists of Ontario in order to ensure they fulfill their duties in the public interest and as mandated by legislation. The Board also hears appeals concerning physicians’ hospital privileges in Ontario, pursuant to the Public Hospitals Act.
